WE ARE ABOUT COMMUNITY
As a business and as individual people within, we understand the way we can positively influence the areas we work. This is how we do it:
On all of our projects that we undertake we seek to impose a specific social value plan. This is aimed at assisting the community directly. We work with our clients to devise an area where we can make an impact each and every time. From rejuvenating neglected communal gardens to hosting school assemblies to educate, we continue to promote the importance of giving something back to the communities that we engage with.
Why is this important?
It is a widely known and a common theme within the construction industry, there is a growing shortage of new skilled young people joining the construction industry. We have a commitment to source apprentices through CITB and continue to train and develop their skills and progress them throughout company ranks in line with their personal ambition. We hold our apprentices in high regard, with the utmost patience and respect as they are the next generation of skilled people that the industry requires. It is important to support their development. With a growing number of young people leaving construction work by the age of 25, we have a group wide commitment to make young workers and apprentices feel valued and incentivise them to stay in the industry.
We do not only focus on apprentices to find new recruits, we also support other people from various backgrounds. We have a number of ex-forces personnel working with us who have needed the opportunity and support into a new line of work. We look to support those who have been long term unemployed and will not discriminate.
We seek out to support those in less fortunate circumstances to provide them with a skill set and a career path to see them achieve their goals and to help them to realise a new way of positive thinking.
AYM will support and develop our people, and the communities where we engage.
We are always pushing the boundary.
